Given that I am uninsured for this condition due to insufficiency with our dental, medical, and insurance paradigm in the US, I have no choice but to ask for the kindness of strangers.

In order to emotionally cope with the frightening aspects of this experience, I want to turn this health challenge into an opportunity for myself and others.

This is why the campaign was launched during the Halloween weekend. I adorned myself as a sugar skull (part of beautiful Latin tradition known as Día de los Muertos) and handed out marigolds. It felt like an interesting twist on the holiday from someone standing at the threshold “to the other side.”

Please know that my capacity to do this campaign varies wildly due to my illness, but I am doing my best to meet this challenge. If you can help me raise funds, I would REALLY appreciate it!
